Jess takes 2nd out of 102 competitiors at BRC Championship!
Jess Cieciora-Joslin, qualified show jumping (as an individual) at Wix Equestrian centre for the BRC Intermediate Winter Championships being held at Bury Farm. They had a bumpy ride to Bury Farm but were super successful, proudly representing THRC coming 2nd out of 102 horses!
Jess wrote this account of events:
“On the Friday travelling up. My fan belt snapped 11 miles From Bury farm. So there I was on the side of the road changing the fan belt on my lorry, with Touhy in the back. Luckily, I had a spare one in my lorry and a spanner, in the heavy winds we had it was very scary!
Out of 102 people there were only 2 double clears. The course was causing so many issues. I just has an unfortunate pole at the last fence in the jump off. Being 5 seconds quicker on the time. With Touhy only being 6 it’s such a wonderful achievement. He’s the most consistent pony and tries his heart out. He has also qualified for the Lincoln championships. So hopefully we can do 1 place better and win it this year!”
Congratulations to Jess and Touchy, certainly a combination to watch out for in the future!
Sarah is Crowned 80cm Show Jumping Champion!
Sarah and Fly have represented Tendring Hundred Riding Club juniors many times over the years. They have been successful and have qualified for several British Riding Club National Championships. On March 31st, Sarah Endean took part in her final junior national championship at the BRC Novice Winter Championships (she is now 18) where she competed in the 80cm show jumping. Sarah rode three superb clear rounds against 83 riders from all over the country to secure her second national junior title. Jo Mason, THRC's Junior team manager and Sarah's trainer said, "I am super proud of all that Sarah has achieved; thank you Sarah."
Sarah had this to say about her superb achievement: "I have been riding for THRC since I was about 10yrs of age and have been lucky enough to have been chosen to represent the club on many occasions. Two years ago my team won the riding test at Lincoln and last year I came second in the 80cm Show Jumping at Lincoln. Fly and I compete whenever we can and I have hundreds of rosettes and have won some amazing trophies. Fly is 24 years old I do everything with him however SJ is our main thing we focus on . Winning BRC Novice Winter Championship is a dream come true! I will never forget that day and am grateful for all the support of my family friends, and my tainer Jo mason. I'm off to represent the seniors now; I am looking forward to the challenge!"

Showing Clinic Success!
Many thanks to everyone who attended our Showing Clinic at Wix Equestrian Centre. It was a fantastic morning; everyone made a superb effort with the turnout of themelves and their horses and ponies. It was a pleasure to see so many types from mountain and moorlands and traditional cobs to beautiful Spanish and Portuguese horses! Our superb judge, Lynda Calcutt, gave everyone excellent advice and top tips; a great way to kick start the showing season! We couldn't have done it without Lynda Calcutt, but also our demo handlers Jemima Bush and Liz Whitworth proved invaluable.
The Committee would like to thank everybody who came to help get our show jumps out of storage on April 6th - you all made a big job seem easy! We really cannot run THRC without help from our wonderful members. If you would like to help at any of our events whether it be stewarding, helping on the collecting ring or even with catering please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Congratulations to everyone who took part, volunteered and supported the Mary Baron fundraising show in 2018. We raised an amazing total of £5,500.45 for the Mary Baron unit at Colchester Hospital. They have sent us this wonderful Certificate of Appreciation which will be displayed at our club show field.
